Set Your Scout Research Settings

Scout Research

All Levelset customers get access to our Scout Research. Scout Research gives you peace of mind that you’re sending the right documents, with the right info, to the right people, at the right time. Depending on your subscription level, you may have Scout Research on all documents, all projects, or filed documents only (like liens).

Scout data pulls from nationwide property databases, county assessor records, Levelset’s internal database of millions of projects, and more. From these sources, Scout helps you identify missing or conflicting property information and project stakeholders. Learn more about Scout here.

If you have a Levelset subscription account, you can also customize your Scout Research settings. Read on to learn more.

Click on the gear icon in the top right corner of your dashboard and select Scout Settings.

Click the green Edit button to make changes.

First, customize the Notification Expiry Period to choose how long you would like Scout Alerts to pause your order so that you can approve changes. The Alerts will be sent to your Levelset account and can be resolved under the Research tab of the navigation menu.

Helpful Hint: We will only send you Alerts when your preference is “Contact You.” If an Alert is not resolved by the end of the expiry period, the Alert expires and your document will be sent as-is with your original information. The information contained in the Alert will still remain available in your account in the form of a Project Suggestion under the Research tab in the navigation menu and can be used to update your project at any time.

For each scenario that might arise on your document order or project, select how you would like our Scout team to proceed: Use Scout Data only, Use my data only, Contact you, or in some cases Use Both.

Property Owner or GC “Empty”: No information was provided from your team to our team. For example, an order was placed without a property owner.

Property Owner, GC, or Project Location “Non-Match”: The information we found was slightly different from the information provided by you. For example, there was a slight misspelling in a contact’s name or the job site address provided was 123 Main Street vs. 123 Main Street.

Property Owner, GC, or Project Location “Conflict”: We identified completely different information from what you provided. For example, the property owner provided was Jane Doe at 123 Main Street vs. John Smith at 1 School Street.
