Notice of Intent to Lien

In Wisconsin, all claimants must serve a Notice of Intention to File Claim of Lien upon the property owner before filing the Claim of Lien.    Since the Notice of Intent must be served at least 30 days before filing the lien, it must be served within 5 months from last furnishing labor and/or materials…at the very latest.

It is recommended, but not required, that the notice be served upon the lender and the prime contractor (if applicable), which must be ordered separately.
